Comparing the potential of Ggllium and Bbsmuth Nnnostructures for Switchable optical filtering

Abstract

Using numerical simulations, we compare the performance of plasmonic gallium and bismuth nanostructures for switchable optical filtering. They present a spectrally localized optical extinction that shifts upon solid-liquid transition, thus allowing a high extinction contrast at selected photon energies that depend on their nature and geometry.
