Este no fue un suceso lejano a las tierras antillailas, y así en la mayor de ellas, Cuba, y de la mano de Israel Castellanos la doctrina de Cesar Lombroso va a encontrar el cauce apropiado para resurgir de sus cenizas.

[EN] At the beginning of the XXth century criminal antliropology was a discipline in marked decline, an ancillary element to cnminology, and anthropological nature, in any case, did not norv precede the crime, so that individual freedom was safegnarded. However, wllile twentienthcentury Europe abandoned scientific positivism, thc Ainerican continent was, thanks to its peculiar ethnic conglomerale, the ideal place for the survival of the biological determinism of the delinquent. This fact was not remote to the West Indies and thus, in the largest of them, Cuba, Cesar Lombroso's doctrine was to find the appropriate channel to rise from its ashes at the hand of Israel Castellanos.
