ResumenWater is a fundamental observational target in present day astrophysics and astrochemistry[1]. Pressure broadening (PB) of its spectral lines by collisions with light projectiles like H2 or He[2] is an important tool for remote sensing as well as a stringent test for intermolecular potential energy surfaces (PESs). The goal of this work is to report an extended set of PB coefficients for H2O lines by collisions with He based in state-to-state rate coefficients for inelastic collisions recently derived from experiments on the evolution of populations of H2O rotational levels along a supersonic jet of H2O highly diluted in helium, in the 20-120 K thermal range[3]. However, there is a further -and eventually significant- contribution to PB due to interferences of elastic amplitudes, which is obtained here by means of close-coupling calculations using the accurate PES of Patkowski et al[4]. PB coefficients obtained as a sum of these two contributions (inelastic plus elastic ones) are analyzed and compared with laboratory measurements published so far[2,4]. The present set of PB coefficients addresses most of the transitions observed in the Water In Star-forming regions with Herschel (WISH) program[1]. In addition, PB of water by other colliders might also exhibit some of the trends noticed in the present system, which will be discussed in the presentation.
