AbstractPlants have evolved an innate immune system to counteract pathogen infection. Increasing evidence is emerging for support the notion that host endogenous small RNAs represent a fundamental layer of post-transcriptional gene regulation for fine-tuning of gene expression in host adaptative responses to pathogen infection.
