The contents of total phosphorus (Pt) was determined in a cronosequence of andepts from the Canary Islands, it can be observed yhat the Pt decreases when increases weathering degree following the sequences:
Vitrandepts, Evolved vitrandepts, Dystrandepts and Intergrades Andosols Brown Earths oligotrophic.
Among the parameters that seem to be related with the phosphorus content of the studied soils are pH and A1/A1 + Si ratio. Some divergences seems to be influenced by other factors for example, present material in the cases of Zabagu and Chinyero profile, and the high content in clay in the B2-1 and B2-2 horizon of the Pico del Ingles profile.
