In almond [Prunus dulcis (Mill.) D.A.
Webb], the appearance of multiple embryos
within the same seedcoat has been
described in seeds from different Californian
cultivars including ‘Nonpareil’, ‘Price’,
‘Sonora’, ‘Jiml’, ‘Carmel’, ‘Johlyn’ and
‘Mission’ (Kester and Gradziel, 1996; Micke
et al., 1996-2001).
