A passive seismic monitoring network has been deployed as part of the CIUDEN CO2 Geological Storage Program. In this paper we present the kick off of this network, showing the preliminary studies to assure its feasibility. In this way we have computed the expected location accuracy for induced earth-quakes and the seismic ambient noise levels at the network seismic stations that are critical to detecting and locating injection-related events. We also explore the capability of the seismic network configuration for detecting very small seismic velocity perturbations at the reservoir, which may be ascribed to the CO2 injected plume, using Passive Image Interferometry (PII).
