[EN] The results of research into the bee taxocoenosis of two natural habitats in the Madrid administrative region (central
Spain), El Ventorrillo biogeological station and Monte de El Pardo, are presented. The sampling was carried out between 1988
and 1992, by means of Malaise traps. The results include qualitative data as well as the phenology of bees at both localities
over a whole year cycle. A total of 5,948 specimens, belonging to 36 genera and the seven families present in the Iberian
fauna, were collected. Setting aside the 660 bees taken during a preliminary sampling effort, and taking into account exclusively
the two year cycles, it is worth noting that at El Ventorrillo, which is higher up and has a more diverse vegetation, we collected
nearly four times more bees than at El Pardo (4,157 and 1,131, respectively), while the number of genera was similar for both
localities (30 and 31, respectively). The family with the largest number of specimens at El Ventorrillo was Halictidae (58.7%) followed by Andrenidae (13.3%), whereas at El Pardo Andrenidae (44.1%) predominated over Halictidae (28.7%). The Apidae
were in a minority at both sites (3.8% and 0.2%, respectively). The flight cycle of the bee taxocoenosis extended from the middle
of March into the middle of October at El Ventorrillo, whereas at El Pardo it started one month earlier and ended the first
week of October. At El Ventorrillo the cycle showed its main peak in summer (centred on the first fortnight of August) and a
secondary one at the end of spring (first week of June); at El Pardo, however, the cycle had just one peak, from the middle of
May to the middle of June.
