OR10 in Madrid
After this year's edition (OR09) was held in Atlanta, GA, USA, and last year's one took place in Southampton, UK, the 2010 Open Repositories Conference will be held next July in Madrid (Palacio de Congresos, Jul 6-9, 2010). OR conferences are one of the main annual events for the international Open Archives community, and its 2010 Madrid edition will represent a good opportunity for the Spanish community of developers to participate.

Digital.CSIC in the Cybermetrics Lab Ranking of World Repositories
The July 2009 edition of the CINDOC-CSIC Cybermetrics Lab Web Ranking of World Repositories was recently published. 18 months after its release, Digital.CSIC is ranked 68th in the general repository classification and 54th in the new specific IR ranking (rankings were 74 and 63 respectively in the January edition). Seventeen Spanish repositories are listed among the Top 400 world IRs (up from 9 in the previous release).

"Digital.CSIC at your website"
This new Digital.CSIC functionality, released on Mar 9, allows for direct searching through the repository content from external webpages. The module automatically generates different search tools in a single html code line which can be inserted in a researcher's publications webpage or at the library website.

Promotion of Open Access in the Spanish Draft Science and Technology Law
The 1st Draft of the new Spanish Science and Technology Law, released on Feb 11th by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN) includes an article specificly devoted to Open Access publishing. In Chapter III of the legal text, "Dissemination of research results and scientific and technological culture", article 33.2 reads "State funded researchers shall make publicly available a digital version of their own final draft (peer-reviewed and accepted for publication) as soon as possible, but not later than 6 months after the official date of its publication".

Paper on Digital.CSIC in Research Information
Issue nr. 37 (Aug-Sep 2008) of Research Information includes a paper on the development of Digital.CSIC under the title "Repository increases visibility". The text of the article is available at http://digital.csic.es/handle/10261/6747 .

Digital.CSIC Submission Form
The Digital.CSIC Submission Form is already available as of Jan 22nd. This form has been developed for making the submission process much easier for the CSIC authors. The Submission Form allows for a very brief document description and a full-text file attachment.

Digital.CSIC in the Cybermetrics Lab Ranking of World Repositories
The 1st 2009 edition of the CINDOC-CSIC Cybermetrics Lab Web Ranking of World Repositories was released on Jan 26th. A few days after its first anniversary, Digital.CSIC is ranked 74 in the general repository classification and 63 in the new specific IR ranking. Nine Spanish repositories are listed among the Top 300 world IRs (7 in the previous release).
